This year marks a special milestone for the Jewish Federation of Greater Orange County. We are celebrating 40 years as the voice of our Jewish community, 40 years of helping those in Orange County, in Israel and around the world. Federation has spent 40 years representing and supporting our fellow Jews in the face of discrimination and anti-Semitic hatred.

We are also recognizing and celebrating our longstanding executive director Joyce Waschitz as she begins her well deserved retirement. Over the years, our Federation has helped to strengthen and support our local Jewish organizations as well as build a strong homeland for our people in Israel. None of this would have been possible without the dedication and enduring hard work of Joyce and our tiny, but energetic staff. Joyce dedicated nearly two decades to Federation and to all of our communities. She planned and executed programs from PJ Library to the Jewish Book Council. She organized film festivals, speakers and holiday celebrations. Joyce was the "face of Federation." She was a one woman bridge builder and steadfast advisor to the many presidents, board members and committees. Joyce was and still remains a woman of valor who never looked for, or expected kudos or esteem!
