I am so excited to join the staff of the Jewish Federation of Greater Orange County as the new PJ Library Coordinator!
I have just begun my final year of studies at the Rabbinical School at the Jewish Theological Seminary in New York City while simultaneously pursuing a Masters of Jewish Education from the Davidson School of Education. I am originally from the suburbs of Chicago where I grew up deeply involved in the Jewish community, at Solomon Schechter Day School and in United Synagogue Youth. I earned my B.A. from Washington University in St. Louis before moving to Los Angeles to attend the Ziegler School of Rabbinic Studies where I met my husband, Rabbi Marcus Rubenstein. We have lived right here in Middletown for over two years, and love living in the natural beauty of Orange County, coupled with the rich history of the Catskills and the warm and welcoming people we have met across Orange County.
I am passionate about making Jewish life in Orange County fun, engaging, and accessible to all. I believe that the best way to learn Judaism is to do Judaism, and I am excited to bring more opportunities to do Jewish to Orange County!
I can’t wait to meet all of you and learn and grow together. I’d love to hear from you, so please feel free to reach out to me at 845-562-7860 or Rachel@jewishorangeny.org! And don’t forget to connect with us on PJ Library Greater Orange County, NY on Facebook to learn more about these exciting new programs.
