Jewish Family Service provides aid to those in need, regardless of race or religion, offers information about available resources, and fosters social and family values within a Jewish framework. JFS provides case management assistance to the elderly and families in crisis. Family Life Education Programs bring together people who want to explore alternative ways of handling life situations such as divorce, single parenting and intermarriage. The Friendly Visitor Program matches volunteer visitors with homebound seniors. The Diane Finkelstein Families in Crisis Program provides financial, legal and psychological counseling, as well as limited financial assistance and job networking to families under stress.
JFS also administers a senior lunch program and offers holiday programs to seniors, the developmentally disabled and interfaith families. Through JFS, Russian Resettlement Services have been provided to Jews who have immigrated to Orange County. Financial, logistical and emotional support is provided to help make their transition easier. All JFS fees are based on a sliding scale, and no one will be denied services because of inability to pay.
